Balmi Review

at 18:09 0 comments

People have been raving about lip balms like Balmi and EOS for quite a while now, so I thought that I'd try one out. I have purchased the Balmi Cube Lip Balm in Strawberry, and I already love it! First of all, the scent is amazing. I have smelt the raspberry flavor too, but I think I prefer the strawberry. It reminds me of sweet strawberry laces, whereas the raspberry smells more like apple and blackcurrant squash.

Balmi is very moisturising, and it keeps my lips feeling soft and smooth for a good 45 minutes. The only problem I have with this lip balm, is that you have to open it carefully, so you don't scrape any balm off the top of the mound. I love the black cord that is attached to Balmi lip balms, because it means that I can secure it to one of my bags and purses- or even my phone!

In Boots, Balmi lip balms retail at £4.49 / €6.79. At the moment, Boots is having a 3 for 2 offer on hundreds of make-up, hair-care and cosmetics, so if you're in interested in buying one for yourself, now is the time!

She Is Not For Sale

at 19:18 0 comments
Today I will be branching away from my usual fashion and beauty posts, to write about something serious.

Human trafficking.

There is a link between fashion, beauty and human trafficking may seem odd, but more and more people in the fashion and beauty industry are starting to address this problem. Fashion brands such as Top Shop and All Saints are now using fashion to combat human trafficking.

Human trafficking has become more lucrative and much safer than selling guns and illegal substances. It is an increasing crime, and as bloggers we can help spread spread the word and together, we can help put a stop to human trafficking.

As girls and women, we should be more aware of this going on all around us. There are more slaves alive now than there has been at any time throughout history, and the industry is worth over $32 billion USD. Be careful and aware where you shop, and even where you get your nails done as that can have an impact.

Thank you so much for reading, and if you can, please blog about this subject to help raise awareness.

Shoes At Office :)

at 18:00 0 comments

I was browsing the Internet last night, and I stumbled upon some beautiful shoes on Office's website. I immediately knew that I had to write a blog post about them!

1. Ted Baker Jelly Chelsea Boots- £65

As I've stated in an earlier blog post, I love anything even moderately Chelsea-Related, and these boots are no exception. I wear a lot of dark colours, and I can honestly say than I've fallen into the trap of wearing completely black outfits too often. These boots offer a lovely bright pop of colour, to add a small bit of sunshine to any dark and rainy day :)

2. Converse All Star Vintage Union Jack- £51.99
I know that I'm not British, but I've just fallen in love with these Converse. I like the vintage look to them, and the way that they're slightly discoloured and a bit faded make for possibly some of the most beautiful pair of Converse I've ever seen.

3. Dr. Martens Drury Boot- £110

As far as I know, these boots are exclusive to Office. Though they resemble the classic 1460, the sole is thinner and the boots are more refined. I own a pair of Docs, and I have never gotten a single blister from them. I really do love these Dr. Martens, and if you buy them, please tweet me a photo!!!

In my opinion, you can't have a shoes wishlist without including a pair of trusty Uggs. I have a pair of Chocolate Classic Short Uggs, and I love them to bits- and as I've said here, I love them to bits- but they're now over a year old, and I think I'm due a new pair sometime soon :P

The final item on my list is a pair of gorgeous purple wellies. Up until a few years ago, wellingtons were only worn when farming or in bad weather, but recently wellies have become more of a fashion statement. The purple colour is lovely, and they have just the right amount of shine and gloss.
