I'm Back - Again :)

at 11:29 0 comments
I guess I owe you guys a big apology. I haven't blogged in forever. I'm also really, really sorry about moving over to Wordpress for a while; and now coming back and changing everything again. I've been going through some weird stuff recently but I'm feeling much better now (read here). I'm about to email Bloglovin' to get my followers switched back to this domain, so there shouldn't be any more... kerfuffle :) This time I'm back- really back, and here to stay for the foreseeable future. I've also been lucky enough to get a new laptop for Christmas, so it'll be much easier for me to blog for you guys! Anyway, I'm back :)

Lots of love,

Artist Obsession - Marina And The Diamonds

at 16:53 0 comments
I am obsessed with Marina and the Diamonds. Her lyrics are so truthful. I first discovered Marina when Primadonna hit the charts a few years ago. I recently started listening to her again, and I've fallen in love with her music. I think that Marina and the Diamonds is definatley someone to look out for in the future, as I think she'll make it big :)
image
I love all of her songs, but my favourites are Starring Role, Lies, Obsessions and You Are Not A Robot. When I started listening to her songs again, the lyrics seemed dark and eccentric, and the music seemed very synth-y, but after a while that's what I started to love about her music.
I'm sorry this post was so short but it'll take me a while to get used to blogging again :)

School Stories #1 | The Time I Climbed Out A School Window :P

at 09:14 0 comments
Way back in first class, when I was eight or nine, I really needed to go to the bathroom. The toilets in that classroom were a room straight off the classroom with two stalls an two sinks. Anyway, this one day I went into one of the stalls and locked the door. After I had finished in the toilet, I tried to unlock the door, but the lock came straight off in my hand :P I had forgotten that the stalls lock was broken! After about ten minutes of violently shaking the door I saw that the window was opened a crack. The window was about 6 foot high- it was a super high window- so I climbed up on the toilet and hoisted myself onto the window sill. It took a lot of maneuvering, but I managed to squeeze through the crack in the window and sit on the windowsill on the other side. It was a big jump from the sill to the grass, but somehow I made it :) I walked around the school looking for a door to get back in, but since it wasn't lunchtime no doors were open. I walked back to the window into our classroom and watched my teacher fretting, obviously thinking I had run away. I gathered some little stones to stand on so I could see in though the window properly and knocked loudly. All my classmates turned around laughing, and when my teacher turned around she screamed :) My teacher got the secretary to let me back in. I didn't get into any trouble, as I explained the situation. Anyway, that's the story about the time I climbed out through a school window :P
HAPPY BIRTHDAY KATE <3 ILYSM xxx
Here's the thing. I'm really sorry to say this, but I won't be blogging too much for a while. I'm going though some deep shizz at the moment. But I promise I won't just leave, there will be occasional posts. Please stick around and check back for my next post. I love all you guys ♥ ♥ ♥

Collection Lasting Perfection Foundation Review

at 11:11 0 comments
20140622-182749-66469072.jpg
I went into Boots yesterday with no brand or product in mind. After about twenty minutes, I stumbled upon the Collection stand. I have heard of this foundation, but I haven't read any reviews- which is not usually like me :)
20140622-183737-67057241.jpg
I purchased this foundation in the shade 4, Warm Beige. I bought it a darker shade than I usually would, so I could have a bit of a summer glow :) I tried it for the first time this morning, and I'm already in love <3. It glides on really well and blends even better. It gives a dewy glow but it can sometimes look shiny. As for the packaging, the thick frosted glass makes the product look very high end.
20140622-185409-68049428.jpg
( That's not a tattoo, it's blue pen :P )
Anyway, I bought this foundation in Boots for €9.95. I suppose one problem with this product is that it's only available in six shades, and the darkest shade is only a medium, so if you have dark skin I'm afraid you're out of luck :( I have been blessed with hay fever, and the Collection Lasting Perfection Foundation covers up the redness around my nose perfectly.
You should really, really try this out :)

Artist Obsession- Foxes

at 21:48 0 comments
TootyFruity did a post like this on her (awesome) blog, so I thought I'd write one too :)

-❤️-❤️-❤️-

Foxes is a British singer who has just released her first album, Glorious. I first came across her when Clarity was covered on Glee. Ever since, I've been addicted to her music. I'd say her style is a cross between Lorde and Florence Welch- as the lyrics sometimes sound like a lighter version of a Lorde song, but the music is much more upbeat, like a Florence and the Machine song. Foxes' song Youth was the track in the background of a Debenhams advert last year.

My top three songs by Foxes are:

1. Holding Onto Heaven
2. Glorious
3. Let Go For Tonight

I hope you try out her music :) If there's any artist you recommend please, please please comment because I'm always looking for new music :)

Nike Blazers :)

at 17:16 0 comments

I love Nike Blazers. They are my favourite Nike products and they look so gorgeous. There is a pair of Blazers out there for every person, and I really, eally recommend them to anyone in need of new sneakers :)

I'm hoping to get some over the summer, and these are the ones I customized

I love the mix of the grey an the blue, and I think these would be so cute with shorts and a flower headband for the summer :) Nike Blazers are available in most shoe shops, and on Nike.com. They are usually around €70, but the customized shoes come in at just under €123. I hope by this short post you can see how awesome these shoes are :)

Let's Talk Blog Challenge | #4 Survival Guide | My Guide To A Great Night In :P

at 22:28 0 comments
I'm so sorry this post is late, but my granny is in hospital ;(
Anyway, this challenge is hosted by Sarah Hamersley, from AtTheBeautyDesk You need to check out her blog :)

-♥-♥-♥-

1. A good film

As a teenage girl, I love most movies everyone else does... except The Hunger Games. Shocker, I know, but I just don't like them! The books were good, but I just don't get the movies. My favourite films of all time are The Kings Speech and About Time, though Harry Potter is my favourite series. For a night in I'd recommend About Time. It's amazing. Especially because the lead male actor is Irish. Domhnall Gleeson is just ❤️. The storyline is the perfect balance between sci-fi and rom-com, and the cast are brilliant

2. Tasty food :)

Where I live, nothing beats Dominos. McDonalds don't deliver and I'm not a huge fan of Apache. Supermacs is fine but I don't care for Papa Johns, and for a night in, I like pizza :) Dominos might not be the cheapest takeaway, but they have great coupon codes and meal-deals.

3. Blankets, Pjs and slippers!

Coziness is a must :) Grab as many blankets, duvets and pillows as you can find, and build a fort on your couch :P Throw on you favourite or most comfortable pajamas and put on your slippers. You are now dressed for a great night in :)

4. Mini-spa

Everyone loves to be treated to a mini-spa :) You'll most likely need nail polishes and face masks, but you could also try face-scrubs and night-creams. Recently I've been reading about pore-strips, and I think they'd be perfect for a pamper session during a night in :)

Let's Talk Blog Challenge | #3 Birthday Box | Things I'd Like To Try

at 20:00 0 comments
It's crazy that it's week three already! This challenge is hosted by Sarah Hamersley from AtTheBeautyDesk, and you should really check out her blog- I love it!

-♥-♥-♥-

1.  Nars Sheer Glow Foundation

This foundation appears in so many YouTube beauty tutorials, and I really want to try it out. It would take quite a but of effort for me to get it though, as I think that the only shops in Ireland that stocks Nars makeup are Brown Thomas and House Of Fraser, and the closest Brown Thomas is over an hour away from where I live, and the closest House Of Fraser is almost four hours away. In Brown Thomas this foundation is €40, and on the Nars website it's €41, so maybe I'll try it next time I'm in BT. I have no clue what shade to get, so ordering online is out of the question ;(

2. Benefit Boi-ing Concealer

I have incredibly bad dark under-eye circles, and I hve a feeling this concealer will do the job. It has gotten great reviews everywhere, and even though Benefit suggest their Erase Paste for under-eye circles, I really do need te industrial-strength coverage that Boi-ing gives. I also have a lot of redness and a very uneven skin tone, (don't I have skin from hell!) and Boi-ing looks as if it would cover up all my imperfections :) I'm so excited as Boi-ing concealer is 10% off in Debenhams. You only save €2.40- it's down from €24 to €21.60- but every euro saved is, well, you know... A euro saved :)

3. Nisim F.A.S.T Shampoo and Conditioner

I cut my hair to slightly below shoulder- length at the end of February, and I really miss my long locks :( My hair also grows really, really slowly. I don't think my hair has even grown an inch since the start of March. I've read about these products all over the internet, and the reviews are mostly good. I'm hoping to grow my hair seven inches. It's a very unrealistic target, but hopefully in a few years I'll be back to my long tresses. I really want to try the F.A.S.T shampoo and conditioner but they are extremely pricey. In Boots, a 300ml bottle of shampoo and conditioner set comes in at €32.99, so I don't think I'll be trying these products out for a while...

4. Blonde Dip-Dye

Okay, so I do have strawberry-blonde hair, but I think that a blonde dip-dye wouldn't look too bad. You might be gagging at the thought of ginger fading into blonde, but in my school picture way back in 2007, and the flash went a little bit wrong and it kind of made it look like my hair faded into blonde, and honestly I love it! I'll probably get it done eventually :) What do you think?

5. Rimmel 9-in-1 BB Cream

Some days I just can't be bothered going through my usual beauty regime, so I just apply BB cream. I have an old one from Penney's, but I think I'd like to try a better brand of BB cream now that I've become more committed to makeup :) This BB cream sounds amazing, as it claims to do 9 actions. Pretty great right? It retails at €8.95, so honestly the price isn't too bad for all that it promises to do. I think as this is quite reasonably priced I'll be purchasing this sometime :)

Let's Talk Blog Challenge | #2 Summer Essentials | My Summer Playlist

at 17:32 0 comments

I'm so sorry that this post was late, I had it scheduled to post yesterday at 8, but something went wrong :( Anyway, Its here now and I hope you enjoy it and have a listen to some of the songs I mentioned.

I can't believe it's week two already! The Let's Talk Blog Challenge is hosted by Sarah Hamersley from At The Beauty Desk, so have a look around her blog (it's one of my favourites!). Anyway, I have put together a little music playlist perfect for summer day on the beach or wherever you find yourself this summer :)

-♥-♥-♥-

1. Summer Paradise - Simple Plan And Sean Paul

This song is by amazing. It has such a lovely Caribbean feel, and I can just imagine singing this song on a lovely warm day by the sea. Since the song came out in 2012, I have been welcoming summer with this song, and it just feels like the perfect song to celebrate summer when it finally arrives in Ireland after what feels like eternal winter.

-♥-♥-♥-

2. SING - Ed Sheeran

I think that this song is more suited to a party atmosphere somehow. It's quite different to what you'd usually expect from Ed Sheeran, but nevertheless I love it. I can't wait for 'X' to be released on the 23rd of June, and the song I'm most looking forward to is 'Nina', as I have a feeling it's about Nina Nesbitt ;)

-♥-♥-♥-

3. Way In The World - Nina Nesbitt

Even though it's not one of Nina Nesbitt's newer songs, it's still one of my favourites. The lyrics are just so true and the song is so catchy! The music video is set on a beach, and I would just love to have beaches like that in Ireland. We don't have much boardwalks or seaside arcades over here... Anyway, this song is just so beautiful and summer-y that I had to include it in my playlist.

-♥-♥-♥-

4. Riptide - Vance Joy

I have adored this song since last September, and I haven't stopped listening to it since. I have to say I'm not a very big fan of the music video though. I love the concept of having the whole song portrayed literally, but the theme gets a bit too dark for me. The song id quite abstract, and I guess without the music video it would be quite hard to imagine what "all my friends are turning green" actually means.

-♥-♥-♥-

5. Big Bad World - Kodaline

I really wanted to have a Kodaline song in my summer playlist, but I couldn't decide on one. I chose this song at random, and I've started to love it even more than High Hopes. I think that it's so true like all of Kodaline's songs. I have read through some of the comments on the video, and people are comparing them to U2, saying that 'They are probably the best musicians that ever came out of Ireland'. I 100% agree :)

Blog Your Heart Out Tag :)

at 17:32 0 comments
A while ago, I got tagged by the lovely Jade from RottenRedCherry, and I kinda forgot... Sorry Jade!... Anyway, I hope you enjoy my post :P

-♥-♥-♥-

1.Who/what encouraged you to start blogging?
I think that Zoella inspired me to start my blog. I've loved her blog and Youtube channel for a long time, and I always thought that blogging looked like great fun :)

2. How did you choose what topics to blog about?
This is a bit of a hard one. When I started my blog, I didn't have a topic. I just blogged about things that were happening in my life or I ranted about Instagram. When my audience started to grow, I decided on doing a beauty blog with some fashion and lifestyle too.

3. What is something most people don't know about you?
Most people I'm friends with know everything about me. Honestly my blog is my secret. It may sound stupid but I just wanted something to work on without my friends and family talking about it all the time. I guess I'll have to tell everyone at some point, but hopefully not now.

4. What three words describe your style?
Casual, cute and what-all-my-friends-are-wearing. Might not be three words, but it definitely describes my style. As I'm a teenager, I'm usually wearing shorts and hoodies and jeans, but I really love wearing dresses. I have too many dresses...

5. What do you love doing when you are not blogging?
When I'm not blogging, I'm either listening or playing music. Currently I play guitar and flute, and coincidently, I'm getting a ukelele tomorrow :) I've just always loved the sound of the ukelele, and I'm going to pick up the piano again in September. I played it when I was seven or eight, but I didn't enjoy it. Hopefully I'll like it better this time :)

I tag...

Let's Talk Blog Challenge | #1 Day In The Life | Harry Potter Studio Tour

at 20:00 0 comments
I'm so excited to be participating in this blog challenge hosted by the lovely Sarah Hamersley from At The Beauty Desk Posts are up every Monday, so make sure to check back on my blog at 8 o'clock :)

-♥-♥-♥-

On the 23rd of April I went to the Harry Potter Studio Tour in Watford :) The tour was amazing! It's a kind of thing that you could go and see again and again without getting bored of it.

-♥-♥-♥

It was absolutely amazing to see 'The Cupboard Under The Stairs'. I have actually spent a great deal of my life wanting to live in it. It may sound weird but I like small bedrooms with barely enough room for a bed, even though I'm sometimes claustrophobic. I think I'd get a panic attack if anyone else was in there with me though!

Olllivanders is one of my favourite shops on Diagon Alley. I just love the bay-ish windows and the piles of wand boxes on the windowsills. It felt amazing walking down Diagon Alley, knowing that many famous actors and actresses have walked here, and that parts of your favourite movie series were filmed right where you're standing.

Yes, that is one of the owls that played Hedwig, I'm afraid I can't remember what his name is though :P He's just sooo cute! The whole time I was outside at the backlot part of the tour, he stayed on the sign for Privet Drive, calm and silent.

This is the house Lily and James Potter were killed in. The house is so eerie and mysterious, and it's definitely desolate and decrepit looking too. The house is exactly how I always imagined it would  be when I read the books, and I commend the designers and builders  that made it look so perfect :)

The Knight Bus! I have always loved the Knight Bus, and The Prisoner Of Azkaban is one of my favourite movies. The Knight Bus is in really good condition and looks so cool from the outside. Sadly, you're not allowed to go into the bus, but anyways, it's really awesome to get your picture taken beside it :)

I don't honestly have a house that I should be sorted into if Hogwarts was real. I have traits from Gryffindor, Ravenclaw, Hufflepuff and even Slytherin. I guess Gryffindor is my favourite though, as many of my x characters were sorted into it :P

A beautiful model of Hogwarts School Of Witchcraft And Wizardry is the very last thing you see on the tour. It's a great ending to a brilliant and the castle is just so spellbinding and breathtaking. When filming the Harry Potter movies, some of the scenes around Hogwarts were made using the model, and the actors and actresses acted on front of a green-screen and those scenes were edited together to make it look like they were outside the castle itself (What a long sentence :P).

I hope you enjoyed reading about my day in absoulute PotterLand, and I can't wait to continue with this challenge :)

Looking Out The Window

at 13:44 0 comments

The weather today was just perfect. The sun was shining and there was very little clouds below us during our flight. I managed to get a few photos of Dun Laoighre before we started to fly over the Irish Sea.

The British countryside is beautiful. I whipped my iPhone out of my pocket as soon as we began to fly I've Britain. The fields and meadows were a luscious green and the rapeseed crops were bright yellow. It was amazing to have such a great birds-eye view of the land.

After a while the plane started flying over towns and villages, and I must say the architecture was simply amazing. The houses and buildings were storybook, fairy-tail and picture perfect. I love the look of the country houses too. They looked adorable from the height :)

There were even more lovely fields on our way into London, and honestly all I did on the journey was sit in the little London taxi and stare out the window.

I found this sign pretty amusing :) If you didn't know, London taxi drivers are required to know certain geographical information about the city of London. Well, that's what Wikipedia says anyway :P

I think I may have forgotten how lovely London is. I'm staying near Holborn. It's quite quiet at night and it is such a short walk to Covent garden.

-♥-♥-♥-

So, that was just a brief round up of what I saw through windows :) Make sure to keep checking back to see what else I've been doing in one of my favourite cities in the world.

March 2014 Favourites

at 14:54 0 comments
I've never done a monthly favourites blog post and I'm really excited to be doing this for the first time. Don't forget to comment what you have loved this March :)

-♥-♥-♥-

Simple Moisturizer

I have been loving this moisturizer since I got it for Christmas.  It leaves my skin feeling so soft and clean, and there is no nasty chemicals or perfumes to harm or irritate my sensitive skin. If you want to see a full review and comparison, click here.

-♥-♥-♥-

Rimmel Colour Rush Balm

I really don't like the feeling of lipstick on my lips, but I still love playing around with lip colour. Rimmel Colour Rush Balm really solved my problems. I have it in the colour 'Keep Mauving', which is a really lovely deep pinkish-red. The moisture lasts for at least an hour, and the colour takes a long time to fade even a small bit. I'd really recommend this to anyone with dry lips.

-♥-♥-♥-

Aussie Take The Heat Leave In Spray

When using heat on your hair, it's best to use a heat protecting spray. I love the smell of this spray. It has a fresh, clean smell that somehow reminds me of bubblegum, and it doesn't leave your hair sticky. The Aussie spray contains natural oils that nourish and
protect your hair.

-♥-♥-♥-

Maybelline SuperStay 24hr Foundation

My skin gets dry in the summer, and I can't use mousse foundation, as it doesn't glide well over dry skin. I read  really good things about this foundation on other blogs, so I went out and bought it. I like to mix it with moisturizer if I don't need much coverage, but it works brilliantly on its own too. More on this product later :)

-♥-♥-♥-

Cadbury DairyMilk Bubbly

I think I might love this chocolate a bit too much. It has the perfect level of bubbly-ness, somewhere between normal chocolate and Aero. I find that Aero bars are mostly air, but DairyMilk Bubbly is not like that. They make them in full milk chocolate, milk chocolate and white chocolate and also milk chocolate as mint. My favourite has to be the milk chocolate and white chocolate :) I can't explain how nice it is!

-♥-♥-♥-

Nina Nesbitt Peroxide Album

This album was mentioned in the guest post done by Tooty Fruity - Click here - and I love it. Nina Nesbitt is a young Scottish singer/songwriter, who has just released he debut album Peroixde. It's brilliant! There's fast songs, slow songs and a cover of 'Don't Stop'- which I adore. I would recommend this album to everyone, so have a listen over the Easter :)

So that is it! I hope you like these things as much as I do, and I'd love if you could give them a try :)
